Diane Chamberlain

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed this author. Her story lines can definitely be out of the box. “The Dream Daughter” is one of those. It is a time travel story that spans from 1965 to 2018 and back again. It deals with the Vietnam Conflict, fetal heart surgery, adoption and love between lots of people. She interweaves her story in such a brilliant way. I really could not put the book down.

The other titles of hers that I read recently are “Fire and Rain” and “The Lies We Told”.

In “Fire and Rain” the drought ridden town of Valle Rosa, California is desperate to find an answer to the fires that plague the area because of the drought. Into the town arrives a man who claims he can make it rain. It is a story with a lot of heart and mystery.

“The Lies We Told” is a relationship novel about two sisters and the man they both love. It also deals with the suffering and heartbreak of natural disasters and the people who help during those times.

Mary Alice Monroe

I just finished another great book by Mary Alice Monroe. This one was written in 2010 but was so good it was hard to put down. “The Long Road Home” takes you from the elite society of New York to a sheep farm in Vermont and back again. The characters are rich in personality and the plot is intriguing.

Sarah Jio

I just finished three books by Sarah Jio. Her books always have an element of romance but deal with serious issues also. In Always, Ms. Jio gives the reader a look into homelessness. She keeps the reader in suspense because you aren’t sure how the book will end.
